Hello again! It's been so long since I last posted here, life got the best of me. The other day I caught up with friends in the CTC discord, and ended up working on this puzzle in collaboration with Sam Cappleman-Lynes and Sulphur, who I'm sure many of you are aware are both fantastic setters of classic Sudoku. I dont know how to describe it rigorously or logically, but R1C1 has to be 2, and 1 in C1 and R9 is solved, and the top row is solved, and all the 9s are placed, and the puzzle falls fairly easily from there. Is that what I am meant to see?
